This is new growth coming from the stump of a tree that was cut down years ago. Gotta respect a tree that's like "pfft, I'll see your chainsaw and raise you persistence!"

I'm not sure if it's go, tree, go or not - this is rather close to my apple trees, unfortunately. (The old tree was cut down as it got storm damaged to the point of hazard.)
