This year I wrote and posted: More than I thought, now that I look at it all. Total wordcount is 162,700.

Overall Thoughts: It was very up and down. TRSB was a lot.

Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you'd predicted? I had no expectations or predictions going into the year, so N/A.

What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January? If you had told me the corollary to 'check out the Eothiriel Regency style art, I can't wait to see what someone does with that!' in the TRSB art gallery was 'and that someone is going to be me' I would not have believed you.

This year's theme and the story that demonstrates it most: Now that I look at it all together, it looks like this was the year of Gondolin.

What's your own favourite story of the year? Not the most popular, but the one that makes you happiest? I like most things I write, but I honestly enjoyed A Visit To The Dwarves from the time I saw the art on.

Did you take any writing risks this year? What did you learn from them?
You did see the part about the Eothiriel Regency style for TRSB, yes? That was in addition to three other TRSB stories. I learned not to do that again. (Also, to yell for a confidence beta sooner.)

My best story of this year: I leave that up to you, dear reader. I like them all, or I wouldn't be writing them.

My most popular story of this year:
AO3 says Bring Out Your Dead has the most hits, and I am in no position to argue.

Story of mine most under-appreciated by the universe, in my opinion:
I think the universe has been pretty appreciative, actually!

My least favourite story this year: Weft was not the original intention for the Gnome Tome challenge, and written in a hurry to get something posted.

Most fun story to write: Toss-up between A Visit To the Dwarves and Bring Out Your Dead, I think.

Story with the sweetest moment: Probably the same answer as above? Though Endorenna utúlien is also a strong contender.

Story with the single sexiest moment: Afterglow, I think?

Most "Holy crap, that's wrong, even for you" story: Cliffhanging

Most overdue: Cliffhanging. Had it in my head for a while, only just got around to writing it.

Most eye roll-worthy title: Weft.

Story that shifted my own perceptions of the characters:

Hardest story to write: Dancing In The Dark. I am stuck.

Biggest Disappointment: None. Nope. I am not disappointed with any of them.

Biggest Surprise: That no one has yet taken me to task for how I wrote Turgon. Especially in Cliffhanging. Also starting a new Star Trek & Silm crossover.

Most Unintentionally Telling Story: ? Unless it's that Afterglow makes clear that I am terrible at writing the sexytimes.

Favourite opening line: It is a truth universally acknowledged that a single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a wife.

Favourite closing line: “Wonderful. I thank you, Ingoldo. But did you have to tell me at three in the morning?”

In conclusion: Not bad. Not bad at all.

Fic-writing goals for 2022: Keep writing. Finish Dancing In The Dark. (For the love of little green apples, I've had the last chapter written for ages. I just need many more before it!) Do better at crossposting. Some stuff is only on AO3, some is only on SWG, some is only on DW/LJ, and I still have a backlog on TtH that isn't posted anywhere else.
