Yes, that is not one or two but three otters!

Does anyone know if otters recognize specific people/boats? I'm really hoping so, because if that's the case, I will probably eventually get better pictures of my lutrine friends. (They originally started out much closer to my kayak, but I didn't want to startle them by reaching for my phone. One showed off, catching a fish right in front of me.)

We've finally got some fall color going on.


Sadly, my photos don't really do the amazing late afternoon light justice.

On a more serious note, next quiet day I go out, I'm taking latex gloves and a large trash bag. Humans are seriously the worst. As pristine as it all looks in the photos, there's trash out there. And yeah, it's not my job to pick it up, but someone's got to do it. Otherwise there will be more of this:

Gorgeous shots, as always. I agree with you about people being jerks, it really bugs me that they don't bother to pack out their trash. You really don't want to see the beaches out here, most especially after the 4th of July. >_

I can imagine. We spend all summer picking up trash out by the road in front of our house from lazy entitled fucks on their way to the shore who toss trash wherever they feel like it.
