Going on Anariel's previous point "it's not kinslaying if they don't die", Celegorm seems perfectly willing to test the next logical theory "I can't be punished for killing them if they're already dead."
Unfortunately for him and possibly Anariel's popcorn opportunities, no one seems willing to let him test this theory.
