P365, Day 164 - Prepared

I am so proud of myself. Last year I remembered about advent calendars somewhere around solstice. So I set a reminder for myself for November 30 this year. AND IT WORKED. (This is probably the last you'll see of the advent calendar until around December 24, when the little scene is complete.)

I used to do those with Alex when he was little! OMG! He was so into them!

They're tons of fun! I'm still into them, though I don't always get a new one every year. (I have several Playmobil calendars, and I've found I can mix and match the pieces to create new scenes. If I put them in the little boxes in January when I pack up the Christmas decs, by the time December rolls around I've completely forgotten what to expect in the boxes.) I've also made advent calendars for Niece and Nephew before.

XDDD I once got myself the Lego Advent calendar, which was lovely. Most years it's not overly interesting, though, also not this year despite it being Harry Potter-themed for once. Have lots of fun with it! :o)

I generally do Playmobil, but not always a new one. This year I have one I found on sale at the end of December last year. I think I like the scene, but I'm not thrilled with the calendar setup - unlike prior editions, this is a single use calendar, with plastic lining and tear to open lids. I think next year I'll go back to reusing previous ones, but mixing up the pieces.
