P365, Day 134 - Mood's

You thought it was going to be a jack o'lantern, didn't you? Sorry. This year I did the world's laziest jack o'lantern (10 minutes total from pumpkin to jack o'lantern, with the majority being for the cleaning out the inside.) So have the farm market where I got the pumpkin (and some very righteous apple cider donuts) instead.

Do you need to have a Jack o'lantern to have a proper Halloween? I'm still sadly inadequate at the customs, despite this having become a semi-normal occurence in these parts, too. (Not that I'd sacrifice one of my precious Hokkadio squashes for the purpose, but we have a couple of deco options for the years I'm in the mood to decorate (which usually depends on the state of the house at the end of October and how much else I've got to do besides preparing for NaNo. This year, nothing happened as I was too sick.)

It doesn't feel Halloween to me without one!
As with all holidays, though, I'm low-key about it - I don't generally do the carving until close to the holiday or on the day. (The difference this year was that with my work schedule as it was, I didn't get a chance to pick up a pumpkin until the afternoon on Halloween, and then didn't get home until it was already getting dark. Thus the 'eh, that'll do' approach!)
