It looks autumn-coloured as well. I'm embarrassed to say that I don't know what happens to them during winter; do they hibernate?

Either the grasshoppers have changed color with the grass or this is a different sort than earlier in the year - in summer they were a brighter green. I don't know if they hibernate or if the end of the season is also the end of their life cycle.
