I'm not that into this particular form of sportsball, baseball and the other kind of football are more my thing, but OMG EAGLES WON THE F***KING SUPERBOWL!!!

Sanity definitely in question, he is a Raiders fan.

I think it's partly the appeal of having an obscure niche interest - it is that in Britain: for many years, if he wanted to observe american football being played, he had to listen to American Armed Forces Radio at dead of night and get thin magazines full of statistics delivered from the US covered in airmail stamps, which is a level of fandom devotion where you start to seriously wonder if the obscurity and difficulty of access IS the point :-D But *now* it's actually shown on TV, and I think he still hasn't quite got over the euphoria!

Although, I suppose if he's a long time fan, it's possible he feels the same animus for the Patriots most of the US currently does? (Yes, we know they're good, but they're also cheater cheater pumpkin eaters, so it wasn't just Philly happy to see them lose last night - as the NY Daily News put it in a tweet, "Hated @Eagles win first #SuperBowl but, HOORAY! Evil @Patriots blow it!")
