P365.2-5, Day 261 - About Time

The camera tends to make it look nicer than it is, but it really did look like this today.

Yes, that is a turtle eating cat food out of a cat bowl. He shows up at feeding time like he's one of them. Hilariously, the cats won't hassle him about it - they just concede the dish!

I don't know about the turtles in your corner of the world, but the kind I'm familiar with - as in, Hermann's tortoises which usually only exist as pets - can be pretty agressive, particularly about their food. My parents have a male who lives outside in his pen from spring to autumn, and when it's my turn to feed him during my parents' absence I need to be quick to not to get scratched after having served him his daily piece of red fruit (which he adores). He's also getting a few bits of soaked cat kibble every day as meaty part of his food as this is what specialists recommend for them. Yours seems to know that as well. *g*

It's less 'good kitties sharing food' than 'the cats do not like the look of that one-eyed weirdo they can't bite'.
