I don't know why they're all grouped together like this, but say hi to the Milkweed Tussock Moth caterpillars...


Thanks to the super zoom lens, I am doing better at getting photos of this tease, whose favorite trick is to land right in front of me, wait until I get the camera up, and then fly off out of reach.

Oh, great shots! The group in the first pic is probably holding a political meeting or family gathering or so. ^^ Looks pretty serious to me.

More like an entmoot - they're still out there today, somewhat the worse for the wear given the thunderstorm overnight!
