P365, Day 9 - Not a palantir

Alas, none of my attempts at photos on the road today came out well. Have a closeup of a marble instead. (Now that I'm not in a hotel room, there's a bit more scope for last-minute photos.)

Are you sure it's not a Palantír? The rarely mentioned P-II pocket model that Feanor made for the road to Middle-earth?

Oh, nice! I made an icon years ago using a marble as a palentir. I wish I knew where it is.

OMG! Found it--B2MeM 2012.

I adore the idea!

I'm definitely taking that as one of the handy pocket-sized minipalantirs that Curufin made in middle-earth. The ones with a firewall, password protection & antivirus ;-)

Ooooohhhhh! If you ever decide to make glass beads with that color scheme and appear to have depth like that, I call first dibs to buy them! I have the fine silver wire, but those would be worth buying some good yellow-gold filled wire to go with.

And I agree with everyone else, that's a Pocket Palantir. :) [personal profile] bunn's comment made me snort coffee out of my nose, thank gods I take mine milky these days.

(I need an "oooh - shiny!" icon!)
I never considered marbles to be mini-palantíri before, although reading the comments above I'm totally convinced now. But this specimen rather looks to me like a tiny planet with a very interesting supercontinent.
