Why?

It is July.
It is not particularly cold outside, nor is it meltingly hot.

Yet I find myself sitting in my hotel room wearing a hoodie and regretting not having packed fleece pants, because it is impossible to convince the in-room fan/heater/air conditioner unit that I really did mean it when I set the room temperature above 70. It's like an icebox in here.

New rule: a hotel can't blather about environmental consciousness if it insists on freezing its guests in mid-summer.

Right there with you. I always hate going into some places in the summer, they seem to think 55 F is everyone's idea of a perfect air conditioned temperature. If I wanted that, I'd find a freaking cave or a server room.
