Yeah, I don’t think Anariel is going to be doing anything with light without making certain no one comes up with the idea of combining jewels and light to make a focused cutting beam. Lasers are useful, but like nearly everything else that has been invented, they are also Very Bad News when used in applications to cause mayhem and/or destruction. And since Morgoth likely still has access to Earth, I have to wonder if he’s worked out how to bring nasties from here to Arda. Hopefully not!
