Thank you for writing this! I never thought that anyone suspected anything off about Saruman prior to his imprisonment of Gandalf, I just forgot that they talk about it in the Council of Elrond (which is very ridiculous of me because they talk about EVERYTHING there), and couldn't imagine the specific arguments Saruman might have made.
