Chocolate Box Letter
Dear Chocolatier,
Thank you for writing for me!
I don't want to restrict your creativity or have you fret about whether or not you've hit everything on a checklist, so I tried to keep my requests broad. The prompts are more ideas than anything.
I've split the requests out by fandom, as I don't know what we've matched on. Most of the DNWs are the same for all, but there are a few fandom specific ones. (I would also like to clarify that many of the DNWs are there not because I never read them, but because they are very hit and miss for me. I don't want you to put time and effort into something I can tell you is a 1 in 4 shot whether I'll want to read and may only like on a sunny day in June.)
Knives Out
I really enjoyed the movie, and I'd love to know more about Marta or Benoit (or both) before or after. I haven't really thought on this enough to have my own headcanons yet, so I'm curious to see what you come up with.

Alicia Cabrera & Marta Cabrera & Mrs. Cabrera - How did Marta explain everything to her mother and sister? How much did she tell them? What did they think of the new house?
Alicia Cabrera & Marta Cabrera - We don't get much, but these seem like two sisters who are close and get along. How much did Alicia know about Marta's job prior to the movie? Did she find out more after?
Marta Cabrera & Harlan Thrombey - How did Marta go from employee to friend? The will came as a surprise, but had Harlan told her more about the family besides what was shown about Walt, Linda's husband, and Joni? What else did they talk about? We see Marta reading a lot - were they Harlan's books, were they books Harlan recommended, or what?
Benoit Blanc & Detective Lieutenant Elliot & Trooper Wagner - How well did these three know each other prior to Harlan Thrombey's death? What about after? Did Benoit Blanc have to explain more to the other two after Ransom's arrest? (Was Detective Elliot annoyed with him?) Is Trooper Wagner always such a fanboy?
Marta Cabrera & Ransom Drysdale - Did these two interact at all prior to the movie? (Did she call him 'Hugh' or 'Ransom'?) What about after - is Ransom in jail? If not, is Martha having to constantly watch her back? Feel free to write it from Ransom's POV, but please do not turn this into a mutual romantic/sexual ship - even before he tried to kill her, Marta recognized that Ransom was, in her words "an asshole". And she doesn't seem like the person who wants to get involved with an asshole.
Benoit Blanc & Marta Cabrera - Do they keep in touch after? Do they talk more after Ransom's arrest? What does Marta think of how things played out?

*As I've said I don't want breaking up of canon pairings, I should mention that Fingon/Maedhros is canon to me. Gwindor/Finduilas falls in the same 'canon to me' category. I recognize I have less of a leg to stand on with Fingon/Maedhros.

Eärwen & Galadriel - What did this mother-daughter relationship look like? Could be at any point from the Years of the Trees onward.
Celebrimbor & Celegorm & Curufin - I would specifically like to see more of these three up north while the Siege of Angband was holding.
Maglor | Makalaurë/Maglor's Wife - Given that we don't even have a name for Maglor's wife, you have a wide open field here. (I like fields of flowers better than fields of mud.)
Fëanor | Curufinwë & Sons of Fëanor - Fëanor was a good dad. This is my hill, and I have fortified it well. Please show me good dad Fëanor and some or all of his sons at a point when no one is covered in blood or setting stolen vehicles on fire.
Aegnor | Ambaráto/Andreth | Saelind - Obviously it didn't end well. But it wasn't all tears! Show me the good times. That could be when they first met, the giddy in love phase, or pretty much anytime before Aegnor decided he had to stay away.
Caranthir | Morifinwë/Haleth of the Haladin - See above. But minus the 'giddy' part, because neither of these two really do giddy.
Ecthelion of the Fountain/Glorfindel - They both died heroic deaths in the Fall of Gondolin. But before that, they lived. And at some point after that, they lived again. Pick one of those two time periods.
Finrod Felagund | Findaráto & Orodreth | Artaresto - I generally go for Orodreth as Finrod's nephew, not brother. But I will read either. Uncle & nephew or big brother & little brother, what did this relationship look like, either in Aman before the Exile or in Nargothrond before Celegorm and Curufin showed up to complicate things?

Menolly & Robinton - Please keep this a mentor/student relationship (possibly with shades of found family). Could be Robinton teaching Menolly how to be a Harper, possibly stepping in to explain some of the things a parent normally would (with or without Silvina's help) or just Robinton and Menolly a day in the life as they play music or go to a Gather or a Hatching or whatever.
Menolly & Mirrim - Again, it's a shame we didn't see more of Menolly and Mirrim's friendship in the books. We know they were friends, and presumably spent time together, but we don't actually see much of it. I feel like they would have had a lot to talk about - Mirrim is the first female greenrider (well, of the Ninth Pass, at least) and Menolly the first female Harper (again, of the Ninth Pass). Who else would they have had to commiserate with about men like Master Morshal?
Mirrim & Path I honestly don't have concrete ideas here.

- Focus on unrequested ships - mention of a ship in the background is fine. Pairing Marta off with any of the Thrombeys is not.

- AUs that grow out of major changes to canon events (ex: "Fëanor lives", "Galadriel dies in one of the Kinslayings")
- Genderswaps
- Writing a requested pairing in a way that totally negates the pairing (ie, it didn't actually happen, was one-sided/only in one character's head, or one character now has lost all love and respect for the other)
- Evil Maeglin - I do not buy that Maeglin betrayed the city without being tortured, full stop
- Narcissistic father Fëanor

- Textual ghosts/filling in the blanks - Tolkien only gave us names or the bare bones of what happened as often than not. There's so much space there...
- Complex characters - The only straight-up villain I can stomach is Morgoth, and even he didn't start out evil. (As for Fëanor, Gandalf is still a fan in the late Third Age!) The elves and men we read about are people with all the positives and negatives that entails.
- Loyalty/devotion - not just in romantic/sexual relationships, but in familial and friend relationships also.
- Meanwhile back in... - Aman? Nargothrond while Finrod is off with Beren? Doriath after Luthien runs away? Anywhere "off screen" from the main canon narrative.
- Reinterpreting the narrative/an alternate perspective on the main events. (What did Cirdan think? How would the events be different told by Men of the First Age? Do the elves have drinks in Aman while reading the Silmarillion and laugh uproariously at the version that gets taught as history?)
- Worldbuilding - details about locations, seasons, flora/fauna, food/drink, etc are wonderful.
- Not being strict about adherence to LaCE - I can write an essay about why I don't subscribe to LaCE being universally and strictly applied, or I can point you at other people's essays. Either way, LaCE isn't my fabric of choice.

- Age-Appropriate Relationships - AMcC's thing for pairing women with much older men is a bit weird to me, so please if you write Mirrim or Menolly in a relationship with someone, make it someone of a similar age. (I see both Sebell and T'gellan as slightly older than Mirrim and Menolly, a few years, not a decade or more.)
- Female friendship - it's a shame we didn't get to see more of Mirrim and Menolly hanging out together in the books, or a friendship that wasn't fraught the way Lessa's interactions with other female dragonriders or Weyrfolk often are.
