To be fair, Eönwë wasn't actually intending 'grand entrance' so much as getting there promptly in a way appropriate for his element. It's just that lightning is kinda inherently flashy... (Uinen arrived via wave, during that same storm. Which was not threatening the elves so much as Anariel's unwelcome visitor - a combined show of power by Manwë and Ulmo.)
