Not certain, but it looks like some kind of mallow to me - like this one maybe? If so, it's a nice perennial with handsome pink cup-like flowers (the one in the linked picture is closed for the night or rain - this is what they're like by day). So as long as it isn't invasive in your region (or as long as you can keep it from spreading outside the garden, I'd say go for it.
